HELLOOOO fellow crafters!!!! I'M BACK!! HEHE!! It has been far too long since my last post!! I'm feeling MUCH better and have missed my crafts and my crafty friends!! I haven't done a whole lot since before Christmas but I have managed to get a few projects in. BTW, I SOOO miss being on the Design Team for Regina at The Cutting Cafe!!! Hopefully I'll be able to join the next round (fingers crossed!)
Anyway, here is the Mother's Day card I made for my mom and my boyfriend's mom. I'm posting it late but never fear....our mom's received in time!! I scrap-lifted this elegant design from the Poetic Artistry blog when I found it on Pinterest.
It was fun making because when I jumped into cardmaking and paper crafting I started with more 3D things and what I consider a bit harder techniques and never really learned the basics. This project really helped me learn some of the basics to card making. However, I still can not figure out how big you are supposed to cut mat's when adding to your cards, or what's really driving me crazy….how do you know how wide and long to make the cool flags that people add to their cards? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
It's a little hard to tell from the pics but the mat is embossed in this project as well. I used Spellbinders Impressibility's for the embossing and Spellbinders Labels 1 Nestabilities for the labels. I loved learning how to use these but I'm not over the hill about the Impressibility's as you can barely see the embossing. I also used the Stampin' Up eyelet lace border punch. I wasn't able to find Rhinestones the right color so I colored my clear rhinestones with my Copics. I LOVE being able to do that!!! I took a beginners Copic class with Cindy Lawrence and learned all kinds of amazing stuff!!! Thanks Cindy!!!
Here's the inside of the card.
My mom is seriously the most important person in my life and truly my best friend!! I hope you enjoy this card and if anyone has some tips on the problems I mentioned above, let me know!!!
